LOTS AND LOTS OF OPTIONS

Though the sandy beaches of the Outer Banks is the number one choice of couples coming here to be married, there are many options to choose from. It's hard to beat the Beach, but you may want to weigh out some other wedding ceremony venues available on the islands.

1.    LIGHTHOUSES: Sharing your vows in the shadow of one of our lighthouses can be awesome.

2.    JOCKEY'S RIDGE SAND DUNES: These dunes are high, really high! They give you a bird's eye view of the island.

3.    ELIZABETHAN GARDENS: Gorgeous Eden type gardens on Roanoke Island in Manteo.

4.    CHARTERED BOATS: Some couples say "I do" while floating on a chartered boat.

5.    HILTON GARDEN HOTEL "PIER BUILDING": This Kitty Hawk option is awesome, a newly renovated building for   events like weddings that literally sits over the ocean with panoramic views.

6.    NORTH CAROLINA AQUARIUM IN MANTEO: Ceremonies held next to the aquariums or outside near the Sound.

7.    THE SANDERLING INN: Wonderful classy resort with first class service. Many options, ocean or sound side.

8.    MALLARD'S MARSH: Ball Room and Glass House venues with beautiful views on Roanoke Island.

9.    WHALEHEAD CLUB: Awesome setting with picturesque wooden bridge in the shadow of the Currituck Lighthouse.

10.  NAGS HEAD VILLAGE BEACH CLUB: Big deck and great beach access.

The list above is not in any special order, and it certainly is not exhaustive, but they are all great options you can Google or go to the Outer Banks Wedding Association website to find more information.
Something above might be a perfect fit for you, but there's a reason why 9 out of 10 couples choose to get their toes in the sand on one of the biggest days of their lives. And the sand is free!

THE WEDDING SEASON IS HERE!

Hard to believe, but Winter is behind us, the leaves are coming out on the trees, and brides and grooms like Chip and Kim are tying the knot down here on the island. Chip and Kim were married this past Saturday at the Saltaire in Duck, and what a great time they and their family and friends had. What a cool couple, too. Met some years ago at a water skiing club and since have decided not to go slolem in life anymore. Best of wishes to Kim and Chip, as well as to all the Kim and Chips that are headed this way for their special day this Spring!

Well, we all survived the weekend of Expo mania. Wow, pretty crazy, but a lot of fun meeting some wonderful brides and grooms who are coming to the islands to be married in 2008 and 2009. There was incredible food for all and one couple won the dream wedding package worth over $25,000 from what I heard today. Pretty awesome.
